PH strictly monitors borders vs AH5N8 avian flu

The Philippine government is strictly monitoring the country’s borders against the entry of the AH5N8 avian flu following a report in Russia on the virus being transmitted to people.

The Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), and the Department of Agriculture (DA) will work together to prevent the virus from entering the country.

According to DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III, among the symptoms of bird flu are fever, cough, sore throat, muscle pain, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. He advised individuals with the said symptoms to immediately consult a doctor especially those who have a travel history from other countries. -PTV News
