PRRD visits storm-hit Surigao del Sur

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday personally visited Surigao del Sur following the onslaught of Tropical Storm Auring.

The president also conducted an aerial inspection of the area as shown in the video from Senator Christopher Go. The chief executive is also set for a situation briefing with local officials.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles earlier guaranteed further response and measures from the government to help victims of typhoons and calamities.

“Rest assured, government continues to closely monitor the situation, and preparedness and response measures are already in place,” Nograles said.

“Sa lahat ng pinagdadaanan natin bilang bansa, nandito ang pamahalaan na nakahandang umalalay sa inyo. Higit sa lahat, kailangan nating magtulungan (The government is here to support everyone amid the challenges we are facing as a nation. Most of all, we need to help each other),” he added.

The president on November also visited Albay and Cagayan following the massive impact of Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
