PH to host 39th Badminton Asia Championships

The country is set to host the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships that will be held at Muntinlupa Sports Complex from April 26 until May 1, 2022 after the tournament was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic. 

After a two-year break, top shuttlers from all over Asia will join the competition to earn points to raise their Badminton World Federation (BWF) ranking.

The winner of the competition is expected to earn 12,000 points for their BWF ranking.

This is the third time the country will host the Asia Championships after their first and second hosting last 1961 and 2001.

Before the pandemic, the country also hosted Badminton Asia Team Championships last February 2020 at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex– Report from Khay Asuncuon/ML-ag
