PH, US to hold 8th bilateral strategic dialogue

The Eighth Bilateral Strategic Dialogue (BSD) between the Philippines and the United States will be held on 15-16 July 2019 in Manila.

It will be co-chaired by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo and Defense Undersecretary for Operations Cesar B. Yano and newly-confirmed Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs David Stilwell and Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo- Pacific Security Affairs Randall Schriver, for the Philippine and US side, respectively.

The BSD is an annual consultation mechanism to discuss the full range of political, security and economic cooperation between the Philippines and the United States. This year’s discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation on counter-terrorism, defense and security, economics, law enforcement and criminal justice.
