PH, World Bank sign $100-M loan agreement against COVID-19

The Department of Finance (DOF) has signed the $100 million loan with World Bank that intends to strengthen the capability of the Philippines to fight coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The loan agreement has been signed by DOF Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and World Bank Acting Country Director of Brunei, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand Achim Fock.

DOF Sec. Dominguez has thanked the World Bank for its continuous support for the Philippines’ fight against COVID-19 while World Bank Acting Country Director Achim Fock has lauded the Philippines for its fast response in preventing the spread of the virus.

The loan will be used in establishing new laboratories in different locations in the country. – PTV News
