PhilHealth calls on public to report fakers of COVID-19 claim benefits

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) calls on the public to report any falsifying of COVID-19 claim benefits by its members.

According to PhilHealth, it is currently investigating reports of several healthcare providers who allegedly declared that their patients contracted COVID-19 in order to charge higher hospital claims or benefits.

The agency warned that it is a violation of the law for its funds to be used in corrupt practices. It added that those found guilty of making false claims will be fined up to ₱200,000 and be imprisoned for up to six years.
