Philippines will import 35,000 metric tons of onion

Following the limited supply of onion in the country, resulting in ballooning price of said vegetable, the country will source 35,000 metric tons of onion from foreign countries. Based on the price of the vegetable in Muñoz Market, it costed PHP100 to PHP150 before November 30, 2019. To date, onion costs PHP240 to PHP280. The Department of Agriculture informs that said importation lasts only until mid-February 2020.
