Phivolcs to launch ‘Volcano PH Info’

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) will launch a mobile app that will provide bulletins and advisories about the situations of the various volcanoes in the Philippines.

The agency has created an Android application named “Volcano PH Info” that will be launched on June 21 as part of the Phivolcs’ 69th founding anniversary.

According to the agency, the app aims to help the public understand the different volcanic statuses and disseminate information on how to prepare for volcanic emergencies. Among the information that can be accessed in the app are the agency’s monitored volcanoes and alert levels.

Phivolcs Director Undersecretary Renato Solidum Jr. said he is optimistic that the app will quickly disseminate information on the different Philippine volcanoes.
