The Philippine National Police (PNP) has issued an update on the heels of closely monitoring the peace and order situation across several polling precincts in the country during the conduct of the 2025 national and local elections this Monday, May 12.

“In line with [the] President’s directive—isa lang naman ang directive ng Presidente natin eh, gusto niya malaki ’yong turnout ng voters natin.” PNP Chief PGen. Rommel Marbil said in an interview during the “Hatol ng Bayan 2025” coverage.

“Practically, generally peaceful po ’yong eleksiyon po natin. Wala po kaming nakikitang banta, wala po kaming nakikitang problema. Tuloy-tuloy po ’yong eleksiyon ngayon kaya maganda po yung eleksiyon na ito,” Marbil added.

The PNP’s top brass also shared the agency’s close collaboration with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in upholding strict security protocols during the midterm elections.

These statements echo an earlier statement by Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jay Ruiz, who has not encountered any untoward incidents at the Integrated State Media command center.

“Dito nga sa command center natin, wala pa talaga tayong natatanggap na malaking pangyayaring hindi maganda. At para naman sa ating mga kababayan, tututok po ang ating state media kahit saan pa iyan,” Ruiz said.

This positive assessment of the situation across the archipelago stems from the stringent adherence of the concerned agencies to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s mandate, which is to uphold the integrity and enforce security, especially in election hotspots during the conduct of the midterm polls.
