The Philippine National Police (PNP) will assist the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in distributing cash assistance to qualified families.

According to Joint Task Force Corona Virus Shield Commander Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar, President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to help the DSWD.

The PNP has given directives to its unit commanders and chief of police to coordinate with the agency.

Gen. Guillermo Eleazar has stated that, “since ang pulisiya natin, nakadeploy naman siya all over the Philippines, eh sila po ang tutulungan para magkaroon ng orderly distribution at the same time, mabigyan natin ng protection itong mga social workers natin at maobserve natin ang itong social distancing. (Since the police are deployed all over the Philippines, they canhelp to attain an orderly distribution at the same time, to give protection to our social workers, and to ensure the observance of social distancing.)”
