PNP logs over 100-K health protocol violators in NCR amid ECQ

The Philippine National Police (PNP) logged over 108,000 health protocol violators within 12 days of the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Based on its data, the organization recorded 108,777 violators from Aug. 6 to Aug. 17 with a daily average of 9,065 violators. It recorded a total of 312,434 violators in NCR Plus with an average of 26,036 per day, while the PNP logged a total of 516,767 health protocol violators with a daily average of 43,064 nationwide.

PNP Chief Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said over 79% of the violators were only given a warning.

“Mas marami talaga ngayon na allowed lumabas, considered as APOR [authorized persons outside of residence], maraming APOR ngayon kaysa APOR noon dahil maraming establishment na bukas,” he added.
