PNP prepares for GCQ

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is preparing for the possibility of placing Metro Manila and other areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) since the quarantine protocols are more relaxed, more individuals will be considered as Authorized Person Outside of Residence (APOR) and the crime rate of the country may go high.

“Nakahanda naman ang ating PNP upang tugunan ito. Kaya naman magpapakalat tayo ng mas marami pang tauhan para magsagawa ng mga police visibility patrol (The PNP is ready to respond to this. That’s why we are going to designate men in different areas to conduct police visibility patrol),” PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Bernard Banac declared.

Quarantine checkpoints will still remain to ensure the observance of physical distancing and wearing of face masks.

The PNP is also preparing for the resumption of their frontline services such as the issuance of license to own firearms, security guard permit, vehicle clearance from the Highway Patrol Group (HPG), and police clearance in Camp Crame that have stopped due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

The organization is still assessing the online transaction and payment of the said services as part of the “New Normal.”
