PNP provides aid to kin of 2 cops killed in Palawan ambush

MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has extended assistance to families of the two policemen who were killed in an ambush in Palawan last July 22.

In a statement Wednesday, the PNP said Director General Oscar Albayalde, along with Police Regional Office 4B (Mimaropa) director Chief Supt. Emmanuel Licup, sent financial aid to the families of PO3 Alexander Mimbalawag and PO1 Julpetri Gustaham, the two PNP personnel killed in police operation during an attack by suspected New People’s Army rebels at the National Highway of Taytay, Palawan.

The PNP has also authorized the release of a Special Financial Assistance check worth PHP314,000 to Melanie Mimbalawag, widow of PO3 Mimbalawag.

PO1 Gustaham’s legal beneficiary will likewise receive a Special Financial Assistance worth PHP274,000

The families will also receive a Special Financial Assistance from the Office of the President under the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP) for the AFP and PNP Battle/Duty Casualties and their Dependents. ( Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
