PNP boosts visibility as crime index reportedly up

As quarantine restrictions ease, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 9 intensified its campaign against criminality following Interior Secretary Eduardo Año’s statement on increased crime index under Alert Level 1.

QCPD Station 9 commander LtCol. Ritchie Claravall said they continue to coordinate with the community as part of their crime prevention efforts.

“Continuous ‘yung effort ng pulis natin, mga force multipliers and even our barangay. Lagi tayong nagko-conduct ng seminars at pagpupulong sa barangay,” he said.

The national police also increased police visibility and launched its Ligtas Summer Vacation 2022 and is currently preparing for the Holy Week to ensure the safety of the public.

Moreover, PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos has tasked police personnel to monitor transportation hubs, such as bus terminals and ports amid the unexpected influx of passengers.

Carlos said they will also establish police assistance centers in convergence points. – Report from Bea Bernardo-AG
