The Philippine National Railways (PNR) will open anew Naga to Ligao trip starting July 31.

PNR said there will initially be two train trips per day.

The first trip from Ligao, Albay leaves at 5:30 a.m. and will be followed by a second train trip at 5:30 p.m. from Naga, Camarines Sur to Ligao.

It is estimated that the trip from Ligao to Naga and back will take two hours and 11 minutes using a diesel hydraulic locomotive with five passenger coaches that can carry over 1,300 passengers.

Nine stations will be operational to serve passengers from different areas, including Naga, Pili, Baao, Iriga, Bato, Matacon, Polangui, Oas, and Ligao.

Fare ranges from P15 to P105.

Eating and drinking inside the trains is still prohibited, while mask wearing remains voluntary.

It was in 2017 when the PNR suspended Naga to Legazpi trips due to the lack of rolling stock. – cf
