PNR trains delayed on June 1

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) explained that 6 of its trains have been deployed on Monday, June 1, but experienced delay due to the garbage dumped on the rails.

“Mayroon diyan itinapon na basura, nasa bandang gilid. Iyon ang mga nagiging problema namin. Siyempre maraming basura hinihigop sa mga ilalim, mga plastic, so ayun ang nakakaabala (There are garbage dumped on the sides. Much of the plastic trash get sucked under the trains and cause the delay),” PNR Head of Operations Jocelyn Geronimo stated.

The PNR ensured hastening the headway by an hour, adding 2 trains on June 2. 10 trains will be added this week for an expected 20-minute headway. The 212 limited capacity has been split in 16 stations where only 30 passengers are allowed at the Tutuban station.

The PNR also strictly implements the health protocols on passengers before proceeding to the trains. – Report from Karen Villanda
