PNR transports over 100 LSIs back to Naga City

More than 100 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) have arrived in Naga City through a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train from Tutuban, Manila.

According to the PNR Administration, all passengers have undergone rapid testing before boarding and all have tested negative for coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The train used was a commuter type where each wagon contains 20 individuals with PNR staff wearing PPEs.

An additional 150 LSIs will be transported by the PNR on June 25.

Meanwhile, the PNR will increase its passenger capacity starting Monday, June 22 since its trains have reached congestion point.

According to the PNR, they will observe the new passenger capacity if it will work within a week. If it fails, they will revert to the old passenger capacity set for the trains. – Report from Ryan Lesigues
