Police officer killed in hit-and-run incident in Zambales

A police officer in San Narciso, Zambales was killed after a hit-and-run incident involving a mini dump truck on Friday.

The fatality was identified as PCpl Rexie Manalo, a resident of Brgy. Sto. Tomas in Paluig, Zambales.

According to the San Narciso Municipal Police Station, the incident happened along Gov. Archimedes Villanueva Sr. National Highway around 12:00nn.

PCpl Manalo who was driving his motorcycle and the dump truck were traversing the southbound direction of the road. He lost control of his vehicle due to the slippery road caused by the rain shower earlier and was then run over by the truck.

The driver has not yet been identified and the incident is still under investigation. — Bernard Jaudian
