Police probe grenade blast

Police held for questioning a computer shop owner for a grenade explosion that wounded his own employee in Kalinga on Sunday.

PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas informed DILG Secretary Eduardo M Año of the incident that wounded Allen Chaclag, 39, a native of Mallango, Kalinga and an employee of HED Computer Repair Shop located at Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City owned by REY DOMALLIG y SUGAR, 39.

Investigation revealed that Domallig rigged an Mk2 grenade in the top frame of the inner backdoor of his shop as a booby trap against thieves.

At 7:45 AM on Sunday when Chaclag reported for work, he accidentally tripped the booby trap causing an explosion.

Tabuk police with EOD bomb squad immediately responded and sevured the blast site.

Sinas said, Chaclag is in stable condition while Domallig is under the custody of Tabuk CPS for investigation and documentation.
