Police probe killing of Isabela City government official

ZAMBOANGA CITY–Police said it is investigating Thursday’s killing of a government official in Isabela City, the capital of Basilan province, to identify the gunman behind the incident.

Supt. Restituto Pangusban, Isabela City police chief, identified the slain government official as Jordan Juaini, 41, the civil registrar of that city.

Pangusban said Juaini was fatally shot shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Isabela Eastside, Isabela City.

He said all possible motives that could lead to the solution of the case are being studied.

On Thursday morning, Juaini was riding tandem in a motorcycle driven by a companion when shot while they were on the way to City Hall coming from downtown area. He succumbed to a lone bullet wound in the head. (PNA)
