Police seize shabu in stuffed toy

BACOOR CITY, Cavite — Police arrested a “street-level” drug peddler and two minors and seized 47 sachets of “shabu” placed inside a stuffed toy in a buy-bust operation at the Zapote Public Market here on Wednesday.

Police Supt. Vicente Cabatingan, city chief of police, said drug enforcement operatives arrested Josephine Nagal Lazarte, 36, and vendors alias “Jalil”, 16, and alias “Jalal”, 17.

Operatives seized from the suspects some 47 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of “shabu” weighing approximately 42.3 grams with an estimated worth of PHP287,640 and two PHP1,000 bills marked money.

Cabatingan said the illegal drugs were placed inside an orange-colored stuffed toy to avoid detection by authorities.
