Prayer against storms, earthquakes, and other disasters

By Ben Cal/Philippine News Agency

MANILA – As fear of a catastrophic earthquake, dubbed as the “Big One”, hangs like the Sword of Damocles over Metro Manila following a series of tremors that struck Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao early this week, the people are urged to pray this powerful prayer to avert such disaster.

At 3 a.m. Friday, a magnitude 4.4 earthquake jolted Ilocos Norte, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tremor’s epicenter, was traced 10 kilometers southwest of San Nicolas town.

Intensity 4 was felt in San Nicolas while Intensity 3 was felt in Sarrat.

The tremor was also felt in Sinait and Vigan City in Ilocos Sur and Pasuquin and Laoag City in Ilocos Norte.

Earthquake is unpredictable despite the advent of modern technology.

It strikes swiftly any time without warning, day or night anywhere on earth.

The Philippines, which is within the “Pacific Ring of Fire”, is hounded by earthquake all year round.

That’s why people are urged to be prepared 24/7, especially praying to God to save us from destruction.

Here is the Prayer Against Storms, Earthquakes, and Other Disasters:

“Most precious blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole world

Jesus Christ, a King of Glory

Has come in peace

God became man

“And the Word was made flesh *

“Christ was born of a virgin. *

“Christ suffered. *

“Christ was crucified.*

“Christ died.*

“Christ rose from the dead.*

“Christ ascended into heaven.*

“Christ conquers.*

“Christ reigns.*

“Christ orders.*

“May Christ protect us

“From all storms, earthquakes,

“And other disasters.*

“Christ went through their midst in peace*

“And the Word was made Flesh.*

“Christ is with us with Mary.*

Flee, you enemy spirits because

“The Lion of the Generation Judah,

“The root of David has won.*

“Holy God!*

“Holy powerful God!*

“Holy immortal God!*

“Have mercy on us. Amen.

(Make the sign of the cross)

Reparation Prayer to the Eternal Father

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee all the wounds of thy dearly beloved Son Jesus Christ, the pains and agonies of his Most Sacred Heart, and his most precious blood which gushed forth from all His wounds in reparation for my sins and those of the whole world. Amen. (3x)
