Pres. Duterte announces December quarantine classifications

President Rodrigo Duterte has announced tonight the new month-long quarantine classifications in the country for December.

The announcement was made after his meeting with members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

The Chief Executive declared that the National Capital Region (NCR), Batangas, Iloilo City, Tacloban City, Lanao del Sur, Iligan, Davao City and Davao del Norte have been placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) while the rest of the country is under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

The Metro Manila Council (MMC) has earlier agreed to recommend to President Duterte the retention of the general community quarantine in the National Capital Region (NCR) until the end of the year. The MMC said it is open to the decision of the Chief Executive on the matter. – with report from Mela Lesmoras
