President Rodrigo Duterte has conducted an aerial inspection in the Bicol Region and Calabarzon before landing in Manila today.

Following the inspection, President Duterte has ordered an investigation on the quarrying in Guinobatan, Albay. Typhoon Rolly’s onslaught left houses severely damaged and buried under lahar and huge rocks.
President Duterte is also expected to deliver his message later today regarding the government’s response to recent Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Siony which has already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Senator Bong Go said President Duterte will immediately hold a meeting with cabinet members and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) regarding operations for typhoon Rolly.
Cabinet members have been advised to undergo RT-PCR testing prior to their meeting with the Chief Executive. The meeting will also depend on the flying conditions.
“Hindi ibig sabihin na nasa Mindanao ang Pangulo ay hindi siya nagtratrabaho, 24/7 po nagta-trabaho ang ating Pangulo (His stay in Mindanao does not mean that he is not working. He is working 24/7),” Bong Go stated.
“Sinisigurado ng Pangulo na laging handa ang mga ahensya ng gobyerno para makapagbigay ng immediate assistance sa mga lugar na naapektuhan ng bagyo (The President is ensuring that all government agencies are ready to provide immediate assistance to areas hit by the typhoon),” Go added.
As for the next Inter-Agency Task on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) meeting with President Duterte on COVID-19 response, Roque noted that it will be held on Thursday. This will be followed by another public address of the president. – Report from Naomi Tiburcio
