President Rodrigo Duterte recently met with officials of the Bangsamoro Government in Davao City as part of his itinerary in Mindanao.

Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim presented to the Chief Executive during the meeting the programs of the Bangsamoro Government, including priority codes and legislative acts which are pending approval by the Bangsamoro Transition Authority.

“Nag-report si Chief Minister [kay pangulo] at napag-usapan nila ‘yung tungkol sa possibility ng extension ng transition (Chief Minister reported [to the president] and they discussed the possibility of a transition extension),” Bangsamoro Government Spokesperson Minister Naguib Sinarimbo stated.

Among the matters discussed are the current challenges to the peace process in the area.

“Ang specific na bilin ni presidente, ‘yung mga issues, concerns na kailangan niyang aksyunan kaagad ay ipadala agad sa kaniya dahil po ‘yung remaining term niya in office ay 2 years na lang din. Gusto raw po niya na maaksyunan na lahat ng kailangan (The specific order of the president is to immediately send him the issues and concerns which need his urgent action because he only has 2 years left in his term. He wants to address all the needs),” Sinarimbo added.

The meeting took place on Monday before the public address of President Duterte with members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID). – Report from Mela Lesmoras
