Private companies are not obligated to test employees

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has clarified that private companies are not obligated to conduct Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) tests for their employees but they need to strictly implement minimum health standards.

The DTI has added more requirements for the companies that will resume operations including daily health declaration of the employees on any exposure to COVID-19 or any symptoms they are experiencing and temperature check.
An employee who is considered as a COVID-19 suspect will undergo quarantine along with people he/she has interacted with.

Meanwhile, the DTI has emphasized that the COVID-19 testing and hospital bills will be shouldered by PhilHealth.
