PRO-10 takes in 800 rookie cops

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Police Regional Office in Region 10 (PRO-10) has taken in around 806 new police officers ready for deployment in the region, after the latter completed the required training and examinations.

PRO-10 Director, Police Chief Superintendent Timoteo Pacleb, administered the oath taking of the newly appointed Police Officers-1 (PO1) Tuesday.

Pacleb said the new officers wil augment in the fight against criminality, corruption, terrorism, and illegal drugs to ensure public safety and security.

In a press statement, PRO-10 said the new officers will receive a basic salary of PHP29,688.

They will be turned-over to the Regional Training Center in Northern Mindanao for the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course after the oathtaking.

Around 596 of the recruits are males while 210 are females, who will undergo academic training, Internal Security Operations and defense tactics for six months.

In his speech, Pacleb recognized the recruits’ parents, friends, and family members, “who gave their full support and guidance to the young men and women in pursuing the calling to serve and protect the people in Northern Mindanao and the entire nation.”

Upon completing the training in Public Safety Basic Recruit Course, the trainees will further undergo another six-month Field Training Program in the different PRO-10 offices as part of their community immersion. (Ercel Maandig/PNA)
