CAMP SALIPADA K. PENDATUN, Maguindanao – The Police Regional Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BARMM) has 27 new police lieutenants, who were sworn in here Monday as commissioned officers through the Philippine National Police lateral entry program.

Police Brig. Gen. Graciano Mijares, PRO-BARMM director, administered the oath to the newly- commissioned police officers during the ceremony held at this camp.

“The new police lieutenants will be deployed in various police units of the region’s five provinces,” Mijares told local reporters after the ceremony.

The BARMM comprises the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Tawi-Tawi, Sulu, and Maguindanao; the cities of Cotabato, Marawi, and Lamitan, and 63 villages in North Cotabato province.

Simultaneous with the commissioning of new police officers was the donning of rank insignias of newly-promoted police officials.

Speaking to the newly-commissioned officers, Mijares reminded them of their sworn duty “to protect and serve the Filipino people”.

He called on the young police officials to be instruments of peace by continuously supporting the peace initiatives of the government.
