PRRD acts on USA-Iran strain

President Rodrigo Duterte has asked the Armed Forces of the Philippines to gear towards a possible rescue mission on Filipinos in the Middle East following the escalating tension between the United States of America (USA) and Iran.

In the evening of January 05, 2020, the Chief Executive initiated an emergency meeting with the officials of the Department of National Defense in the Malacañan. The agenda revolved around the adverse effects of the growing strain to the Philippines, including the country’s security.

In addition to the foregoing, the Head of State instructed concerned government arms to generate contingency measures and enumerate flight countries for the subjects in the event of untimely repatriation.

The President guaranteed that the administration undertakes every step leading to the icing of the safety of all Filipinos.
