MANILA — President Rodrigo R. Duterte has appointed former Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) judge Ronald Moreno as Associate Justice of the Sandiganbayan.

Duterte appointed Moreno on June 8, 2018 but his appointment paper was only released to the media on Wednesday.

Moreno replaces former Associate Justice Alexander Gesmundo.

Last year, Moreno was included in the list of four candidates recommended by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) to Duterte.

He was appointed as presiding judge of Makati RTC Branch 147 by then president Benigno Aquino III in 2012.

Moreno earned his law degree from the University of Santo Tomas.
