PRRD attends enthronement of Naruhito to Japanese emperor post

Pres. Rodrigo Duterte joins other world leaders in Japan to grace the enthronement ceremony of Naruhito as the 126th Japanese emperor. The Philippine delegation will stay in the said country until tomorrow, October 23, 2019. This includes Sen. Christopher Go, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, Philippine Ambassador to Japan Jose Laurel V, Special Envoy to Japan for Trade and Market Access Feliciano Belmonte Jr., and Chief of Presidential Protocol and Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs Robert Borje. While there, the Chief Executive designated Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea as officer-in-charge of the Philippine executive branch.

Meanwhile, the Philippine government has expressed its sympathies to the Japanese people following the onslaught of typhoon Hagibis in the state. In a letter of Sen. Go to the Japanese embassy, he said that the Philippines is ready to offer assistance to the Japanese nation, in compliance with the directive of Pres. Duterte.
