Private hospitals association threatens Philhealth of non-renewal of accreditation

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) claims it has paid PHP 69 million it owes from private hospitals for this year. The reimbursement claims have been fully paid. This is in response to the threat of around 600 members of the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines Inc. (PHAPi) not to renew their Philhealth accreditation in the year 2020 due to unpaid claims worth PHP 2.5 billion.

But Philhealth countered that some hospitals take too long in processing their forms which has resulted to huge sums in backlog.
