PRRD condoles with Robredo on mom’s death, sends flowers

President Rodrigo Duterte sent flowers to the wake of Vice President Leni Robredo’s mother, Sally Gerona, who passed away last Saturday.

President Duterte said he sympathizes with the VP Robredo since he also experienced losing a parent.

“I’d like to say now that I am sad and I share her grief. I also lost a father once upon a time… I just came in from Davao. But I sent my — I conveyed my condolences. And — well the flowers. Kasali man sa kultura natin ‘yan. We do it with flowers,” he said.

He added he will attend the wake only if he has time.

Through an order of the President, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo earlier visited the wake where he personally talked with VP Robredo. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
