PRRD confident China won’t control PH power grid

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte assures the public that China will not hold control over the Philippine power grid, and states that he sees no problem with China’s co-ownership of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). The NGCP is a private company that manages and operates the country’s power transmission infrastructure, but the National Transmission Corporation – a state-owned firm – owns the transmission lines that connect power plants to power distribution utilities.

The NGCP clarify that China’s 40% stake is limited to being a technical adviser.
