Health Secretary Francisco Duque III still has the trust of President Duterte amid the consistent flak he has been getting.
In his public address on Sunday night, President Duterte said the health chief has continued to serve his functions.
“Secretary Duque, they want your neck. Then I ask you, ‘Okay, you want me to fire Duque?’ Let me be satisfied. Anong kasalanan ng tao (What is his fault?) He did not import COVID… He was there all the time and ang (the) infection was overwhelming not only for the Philippines,” he pointed out.
Meanwhile, the DOH updated that as of August 3, there are 106,330 COVID-19 cases in the country, 38,405 of which are active. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
