PRRD directs PhilHealth to speed up payment to hospitals

President Rodrigo Duterte has asked the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to streamline the processing of payment claims by hospitals.

Malacañang disclosed a day after the full cabinet meeting held on Monday that President Duterte sought an explanation from PhilHealth on the matter.

The issue of PhilHealth on delayed payments to hospitals has been discussed in the recent cabinet meeting. They have been summoned and asked to explain why),” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque disclosed.

The president also ordered the reduction, reconfiguration, and simplification of requirements for settling claims as well as stretching the limit of late filing),” he concluded.

PhilHealth CEO and President Dante Gierran vowed that he will meet with board members to respond to the order of the Chief Executive. – PTV News
