PRRD encourages Filipinos to be inspired by Bonifacio’s values

President Rodrigo R. Duterte joined the Filipinos on Monday for the commemoration of the birth of the Father of the Philippine Revolution.

“I am one with the entire Filipino nation in commemorating the 157th birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio. Today, we honor Bonifacio’s legacy of sparking the fires of a revolution that awakened our national consciousness and serve as the foundation of this Republic.”

In a virtual speech delivered by the President Duterte to the public, he acknowledged Bonifacio’s courage. He urged the Filipinos to be inspired by the traits of Bonifacio especially in the middle of a serious challenge caused by the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“Now, more than ever, as we overcome the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic, as we remember his life and deeds, may the values he fought for inspire us all to become worthy heirs of a just, progressive and inclusive society that he envisioned more than a century ago.” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
