PRRD extends SRA grant for healthcare workers

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte extended the grant of the special risk allowance (SRA) for all frontline health workers in the country by signing Administrative Order (AO) No. 42 on June 1.

The AO extends the granting of SRA from September 15, 2020 until June 30, 2021. The directive requires the Department of Health to process all the claims while the Department of Budget and Management is tasked to manage the funds for the allowance.

The President said it is important to extend the allowance for health workers in recognition of their contributions to the country’s battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The healthcare workers initially received their SRA from September 15, 2020 to December 19, 2020 to “recognize [their] heroic and invaluable contributions” in the early period of the country’s efforts against COVID-19.
