PRRD, IATF-EID to meet anew for COVID-19 response, expenses

President Rodrigo Duterte will have a meeting with some members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) in Davao City this evening which will be followed by another public address.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said they will particularly discuss the expenses of the government amid the health crisis aside from measures to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Isa po sa hiningi ni Presidente ngayon para sa talumpati niya ay ‘yung report para sa lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno, kung paano po nagastos ang mga COVID-19 related expenses. So ire-report po ‘yan ng ating president (One of the requests of the President for his speech is the report of government agencies and on how COVID-19-related expenses were utilized. He will report about it),” Roque disclosed.

In terms of the social amelioration program (SAP) payout assessment, Roque said the performance is at the passing level.

“Siguro po hindi magna cum laude ang grade, pero pasado naman po. Sa susunod po, now that we have used sa FSPs, mas mabilis na po ang pamimigay ng ayuda kung mayroon man (The grade is not magna cum laude but it has a passing mark. Next time, since we have used FSPs, the distribution will be faster if ever there will be another tranche),” Roque stated.

Roque added that he will announce more updates on Tuesday after their meeting with the Chief Executive. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
