President Rodrigo R. Duterte recognized the strides of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in response to calamities especially during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
In the President’s message on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the department, he expressed his gratitude for the diligent and heartfelt service of the DSWD to the public. It is the leading coordinator in providing various government aids to those who are gravely affected by the crisis.
President Duterte encouraged DSWD that the said occasion may inspire it to “offer selfless service to the nation as we continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic”.
“Your unyielding commitment to various social development programs that help alleviate poverty, hunger, and inequality especially during pandemic is truly noteworthy,” he concluded.
