PRRD may visit PNP officials who figured in chopper crash

Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte may possibly visit Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Archie Gamboa and 7 other officials who are currently recovering in two separate hospitals after figuring in a chopper accident Thursday morning.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the President is closely monitoring the developments, and the he is glad that all the officials are safe from the mishap.

Meanwhile, the media queried if the President would avoid helicopters as his usual mode of transportation but Panelo surmised, “Iniimbestigahan pa kung whether it was a pilot error or engine… pero wala pa eh (They are currently investigating whether it was a pilot error or engine (failure) but there are no conclusions yet). Let’s wait for the results of the investigation. We were shocked and sad to hear about the chopper crash. At the same time we’re glad that only minor injuries were suffered by the passengers,” Panelo said. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
