President Duterte has ordered a complete revamp of all Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) personnel from the lowest position to the higher ups to eradicate corruption in the agency. Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the Chief Executive has also instructed new BuCor chief Gerald Bantag to swap provincial guards with those assigned at the national penitentiary and warned him against any enticement.
