PRRD positive NLEX Harbor Link C3-R10 will ease Metro Manila traffic

Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is confident the new NLEX Harbor Link C3-R10 Section built at the Caloocan Interchange to Radial Road 10 in Navotas City will greatly improve the traffic situation in Metro Manila.

“This will decongest Metro Manila by providing direct access to NLEX without the need to pass through EDSA or the Balintawak Toll Plaza. This will improve the movement of cargo between the Port Area and NLEX by shortening the travel time from the usual one hour to 10 minutes,” Pres. Duterte said.

The Chief Executive has inspected yesterday the said structure which is “90 percent complete.” This is one of the flagship infrastructure projects under the government’s “Build, Build, Build” program.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Mark Villar added a merry Christmas awaits the public once the project is finished.

“This year would be a turnaround year for Metro Manila. This is the year, that we will decongest EDSA, with this project alone, we hope to relieve 30,000 trucks and vehicles. In a few months, we’ll open another project that will relieve EDSA of another 100,000 vehicles. So this 2020, by this Christmas po, napakasaya po ng Christmas ng ating mga kababayan (a merry Christmas awaits our people),” he said.

President Duterte was joined in the program by Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan who is also the head of Maynilad Water Services, Inc.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the President invited the business tycoon for a meeting for another time.

“After his speech, ‘di ba they shook hands, and I understand the President told him they will meet some time…Mutual concerns. (‘Yung water concession agreement?) Siguro (Maybe), most likely,” Panelo said. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
