PRRD signs AO No. 28 to grant SRA to public health workers

President Rodrigo Duterte has signed Administrative Order No. 28 to grant special risk allowance to frontline public health workers during the enhanced community quarantine period.

The AO covers civilian employees with regular, contractual, casual or part-time positions; workers under contract of service (COS) and job order, and barangay health workers who have physically served in hospitals and other healthcare facilities during the said period.

The granting of allowance to public health workers will be pro-rated based on the number of days they have reported for duty. If an employee has reported for work three to seven days, he or she will receive an SRA amounting to 25 percent of his or her income.

Meanwhile, Nograles recognized anew the efforts of the country’s health workers. He also defended frontline workers against discrimination and shared that lawyers from the University of the Philippines College of Law have “volunteered their services to victims of discrimination.” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
