PRRD tells Mabilog’s wife: ‘Not my fault’ your husband is on list

President Rodrigo Duterte has responded to the wife of former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, saying that it is not his fault that her husband’s name was included in the narco-list.

In her Facebook account, Marivic Mabilog harshly reacted to the chief executive’s mention of her husband’s name again in last Monday’s televised address.

“Hindi aking listahan ‘yan (That list is not mine). Now, there is no such thing as I have to move on because it’s a constant vigilance,” he stressed.

Duterte recently mentioned Mabilog’s name along with other government personnel in one of his public addresses for dismissal due to “grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.”

“Kung nasabi ko ang pangalan uli (If I mentioned the name again, [it is] because at that time he was named. Dito ngayon, ‘yung conviction niya (Now here, it is his conviction) – dismissed from public office and barred from seeking and perpetual disqualification to hold public office, that is not my decision. It is the decision of the Ombudsman,” he explained.

“That is different from the first time that I mentioned him. Take that away. That was general. Ito rito specific ‘yang mention niya (this one, it is a specific mention),” he added.

Meanwhile, Duterte has issued a warning to drug lords who remain scotfree.

“You take the risk, you earn so much money, comfortable life, okay lang ‘yan (that’s fine). But at the end of the day, you know what the stakes are,” he cautioned. – PTV News Online
