President Rodrigo R.Duterte has issued a stern warning to police personnel in Zamboanga del Sur who are allegedly trying to revive the notorious gang Kuratong Baleleng.
“Better shape up… Hindi niyo kaya ang gobyerno. Patayin mo man si Año, patayin mo ako, patayin mo si ano, Lorenzana, buhay pa rin ang Republika ng Pilipinas (Better shape up… You do not stand a chance with the government. Even if you kill [Sec. Eduardo] Año, me, and [Sec. Delfin] Lorenzana, the Republic of the Philippines will still live),” President Duterte cautioned.
The warning came after reading the names of dismissed government workers that include security forces personnel and local government officials.
“Dalawa iyang infamous ano rito mayor. Alam mo kung sino iyong isa? Iyong si Parojinog (Two are infamous mayors here. Do you know one of them? It is Parojinog,” he pointed out.
The weekly announcement of officials facing dismissal and suspension due to alleged dishonesty, negligence, grave misconduct and other illegal practices is part of the Chief Executive’s “commitment to the people to report the progress of our campaign against graft and corruption.”
Among the names in the list is former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog who was dismissed “for grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.”
President Duterte has earlier named customs, immigration, and transportation officials and warned of raising the sanction of suspension to dismissal.
Meanwhile, the government has recently boosted its 8888 hotline with free text or SMS services. The format in filing complaints through the hotline is C / Name (if the complainant wishes to be identified) / concerned government agency / complete details of the complaint.
For assistance, the public should type in A/ Name/ Type of assistance needed (i.e. financial, livelihood, housing, work, educational assistance or claims)/ Government agency concerned/ complete details of the assistance needed. – PTV News Online
