Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and United States President Joseph Biden may meet before 2021 ends.
In a Palace briefing on Tuesday (April 20), Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez said Biden plans to meet all the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) if the situation permits. The event may occur in Brunei. However, the date is still uncertain.
“I understand that towards the end of this year, as things get better, President Biden, I think, is expected to meet all the ASEAN leaders. I’m not sure where, I guess probably in Brunei where there’s going to be a leaders’ summit,” Romualdez said.
He added that the U.S. President has only talked with a few leaders till now, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
