PRRD wishes to retire, warns Sara Duterte not to run

President Duterte wishes to retire after his Presidency run, he said in an exclusive interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ last Tuesday (June 8).

“Ako I’m ready for retirement. But if you ask me what’s my greatest achievement, [it’s when] I [exposed] the oligarchy in the Philippines,” the President said.

Meanwhile, the President also warned Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte not to run for President.

“Si Inday, kinausap ko talaga kagabi, do not run. Do not ever commit the mistake of running,” he said.

He said that there is nothing that can be gained in running for presidency except for the feeling of fulfillment that comes with accomplishing something.

“Wala ka talagang makuha sa pagiging presidente. Pagod lang, maliban sa sense of fulfillment na may nagawa ka para sa bayan,” he said.

Duterte also discouraged Mayor Duterte from running last January during his speech in the inauguration of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 (MMSS-3) Project.

“My daughter is not running. I have told Inday not to run kasi naaawa ako sa dadaanan niya na dinaanan ko,” he said.

“Hindi ito pambabae. Alam mo, the emotional set-up of a woman and a man is totally different. That is the sad story,” he added.

As for COVID-19 funds, Duterte said it was a separate budgeting.

“COVID-19 has a different budgeting. Separate ang mga gastos natin dyan. Inutang ang vaccines, bangko mismo magbabayad,” he said. “Ito namang oposisyon, where is the money, ang problema kulang ang stock, wala talagang supply. Pero tayo, dumadating na ngayon in bulk. Di dumadaan sa atin ang pera.”

The President also said to allot vaccines to areas with rising COVID-19 cases.

“This time, yung ibang siyudad, bigyan na rin ng malaking allotment, may spike eh. Di kasi naniniwala sa COVID-19 [at] may bagong variants pa,” he said.

“Kung walang pandemic, we’re still BBB+ despite of total lack of funds, binigyan pa rin tayo ng mataas na ratings sa borrowings. (Finance Secretary Carlos) Dominguez has done very good homework”, Duterte said. -rir
