PSA: Over 10-M Filipinos receive PhilIDs

By Myris Lee

More than 10 million Filipinos have already received their Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) cards, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported Wednesday, May 18.

According to PSA, 10,548,906 cards or 33.7% of their target for 2022 was achieved in collaboration with the Philippine Postal Corporation.

“PSA recognizes this milestone as an outcome of our collective efforts with partner agencies and the field offices involved in producing and delivering PhilID cards to our registrants nationwide,” PSA Undersecretary Dennis Mapa said.

“We are determined to continue to put forth initiatives that will accelerate PhilSys operations across all sectors,” Mapa added.

Meanwhile, Maps said the agency is now working to create a mobile application for the digital version of the PhilID as a substitute for the physical ID card. – gb
