PSA: Over 50-M PhilIDs issued

A total of 50,176,726 Philippine identification cards (PhilIDs) have been issued as part of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) implementation, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said Monday, March 6.

The PSA said 25,126,407 of the IDs have been delivered as of Feb. 28, while 25,050,319 were issued as of March 3 including 779,559 downloaded versions of PhilID.

“We, at the PSA, take this milestone as another step towards our goal of delivering the benefits of being PhilSys-registered to more Filipinos,” PSA Undersecretary Dennis Mapa said.

“Sinisiguro namin na lahat ng nakapag-register na sa PhilSys ay magkakaroon ng PhilID at ePhilID. Anuman sa mga ito ay parehong magagamit ng ating mga kababayan sa kanilang mga transaksyon,” he added. AG – gb
